Tannadice native Mark McCabe has made a notable appearance on the 2025 series of BBC’s “Great British Menu,” showcasing his culinary talents on a national stage.
McCabe, currently the head chef at Henrock by Simon Rogan in Windermere, returned to the competition, representing Scotland. His culinary journey, deeply rooted in his Angus upbringing, particularly inspired by his mother’s cooking and foraging, provided a strong foundation for his creative dishes.
In the Scottish heats, McCabe competed alongside other talented chefs, drawing inspiration from “Great Britons” and incorporating local flavors into his menus. The competition, celebrating the show’s 20th anniversary, saw McCabe demonstrate his expertise and passion for food.
McCabe’s impressive culinary background includes experience at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage and his time as head chef and co-owner of the Michelin Green Star-awarded The Ethicurean in Bristol.
