What a month the WeeCook team are having!
The WeeCook team and their products are no strangers to awards, and back in October, the WeeCOOK Kitchen Fishwife Pie, packed with Scottish haddock, smoked haddock, salmon and local Arbroath Smokies, bound together in a family recipe of fish stock and parsley sauce, won best fish product and overall product of the year at the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence awards.
Hayley Wilkes said “In Scotland there’s a massive pie scene. Meat pies are traditionally very popular here, but our pies are different. Each is hand filled and hand finished. The Fishwife Pie, as a girl growing up in the 90s, is my homage to girl power. It’s not like a normal fisherman’s pie. This is like the sassy, Scottish little sister of the fisherman’s pie – the next gen as it were.”
If that wasn’t exciting enough, WeeCook have embarked on a move! Relocating their HQ to Dewar Place in Arbroath! They are in the process of getting the ovens connected and the production facility up and running, but there are some exciting plans in place for the future, with takeaway already available, there is a new Street food menu in the plan and a Street food trailer getting the finishing touches before it is ready to hit the road.
